Dreamliner Just Doesn't Line Up.
 
Apparently they are having problems fitting the section 41 to the section 43 on the 787 Dreamliner.
Missed by only a centimetre or so.

Sorry about that, I looked for another thread about it before I posted, but couldn't find one.

The information is genuine, but the problem may be corrected by now.

Indeed. Before I left Seattle yesterday, they had a piece in the local newspaper. Apparently one of the sections was in a support structure, and the other was not. Once the second section was placed in its rig, they aligned almost perfectly.

Questionable ref the newspaper story as monolithic carbon single element wound structures don't have that much free play in the uniform fitting; infact any large CF structure prett much comes out of a clave cast in rock, so to speak

If putting into a jig straightens it up means you have that amount of shim allowance, I would be extremely surprised
