JAA Written exams
I am a FAA certified Captain working for a European carrier. I have been told and see in the regs that I only have to pass three written tests to begin the process of conversion. I live in the UK and am wondering if anyone has a recommendation of a distance learning school that I should contact......Thanks

Only need 3 exams is right, but your licence will be restricted to UK reg aircraft. If you want a full JAA licence, all 14-odd exams are required:ugh:, no matter bow much experience you have:*

Faa To Jaa
Hi,
I am FAA CPL MEI and would like to get a conversion to JAA, Where did you find the regs regarding only sitting just three exams to convert? |
Why not sit all 14 exams? That way you won't be restricted to UK reg aircraft should you need to work somewhere else.

andyair,
I am guessing that it is in this large pdf document: http://www.caa.co.uk/application.asp...detail&id=1591 "Description: The LAS section brings together in one easily understandable book all the flight crew licensing information otherwise found in JAR-FCL, the UK ANO, AICs and the old CAPs 53/54. Regulations and procedures do change between the annual publishing of LASORS and these updates are notified by AICs and published on our website www.caa.co.uk/srg/licensing. The ORS section is also by no means in its definitive format. If it can be enhanced to make the whole book more valuable to the pilot it will be. The aim is to give pilots a one-stop reference for all aspects of safe aeroplane operation." |
MrBernoulli,
Thanks, Already been there but still need to read it through a few more times like most regs to be completly be clear!!:ugh: |
