Climb Requirements when alt not specified
When no gradient is specified on a SID Terps uses 3.3% min climb gradient, but to what altitude? 2500 rang a bell, but I can't find it. I have also read that you have to be able to climb up to the MEA.
Also, when a greater than standard gradient is published and no altitude is, than what altitude is that gradient required to be maintained? Lastly what is the standard gradient for accepting a sid under Pans-ops/JAR ops? Thanks. |
You continue climbing at 3.3% until the next phase of flight - if its enroute, then its the enroute minimum safe altitude. I don't know where the arbitary 2500ft comes from - that could get you into a lot of trouble in a lot of places.
Same goes for increased procedure design gradients Same same applies to PANS-OPS procedures. |
