Keep the blue/grey above you and the brown/green beneath you. Try and land on the stripey bit in the middle :O
Simple aircraft to land, twitchy in roll on the -200, but very nice in pitch. Flare at about 20', don't try and hold off like loads do. Don't let the nose come down hard, fly it onto the ground. Your mileage may vary.....

flare at 20`-30`
as soon as aft bogeys touch > release stick (or just before if you can)
as soon as front bogeys touch > back pressure to fly the nose down

Always have the gear down!

Am very interested in this as my last landing in the 330 was terrible ! Have always used the window between 40 and 20 feet for the flare, neutralise the side stick and then ease the side stick slightly back to fly the nosewheel on. Is it true in the rumour that the 340 in particular the 340-600 is a delight to land!

Always land on the runway!!

gentlemen

I think we can ascertain here that landing on the RWY with GEAR down is not the burning Question here , rather the point of this exercise is to share other experienced guys experiences and hopefully learn from it .

oh well keep it coming fellow flyboys

... the 340-600 is not a delight to land, certainly the worst of the Airbus FBW I have flown.

When the voice says 'Forty', check back slightly on the stick and hold that slight stick-force. The rear wheels will kiss the ground and no-one will notice. Then,

the 330 has four stages in the landing:

- rear pairs touch;
- forward pairs touch followed (swiftly, probably) by
- weight on the oleos ( you can't miss that bit)
- nose-leg touch when you FLY it down to the rwy surface remembering that it is about - 2 degrees fuselage angle, so it takes a while to get there.

Happy landings.

330 landing

If you use the lo setting on the auto brakes, the fwd pair of the bogey come down rather quickly.....you might think its the nose gear and release that back pressure.....quite a surprise when they bang down!

Happy Landings
