Boeing 737 Supplementery
IN SUPPLEMENTARY PART OPERATING MANUAL BOEING 737 .........
note.DO NOT USE VOR/LOC AFDS mode when conducting VOR approaches if the VOR/DME statin elevation is more than 5000 ft MSL , if there is no co-located DME trasmitter available at the VOR station to be used or when the DME is invalid for any other reason......... WHY ???:ugh: SOMEONE CAN EXPLAIN TO ME THE REASON ????:{ PLEASETHANKS |
who knows ???
nobody ....:bored: we need a good electronic engineer !!!:ok: |
In some cases VOR receivers do not consistently provide the FCC with an output at Station Passage, which will satisfy the FCC Over station logic when no dme signal is present. Additionally the station passage logic using the dme signal will not be correctly triggered if the station elevation is greater than 5000msl. Failure to sense station passage can result in excessive maneuvering when passing through the cone of confusion and intercepting the outbound radial.

Sorry but what is the AFDS mode?

simple words:
COMPUTER ESTA STUUPIDO!
the AFDS (auto flight director system) and the FCC (flight control computer) have a programming. if the DME is closing to zero and then counts up again it knows it is flying over the VORDME. and then there seems to be another programm which tells the computer if you loose the signal (no DME!) and you are still high (5.000ft +) then you can not be in an approach..... |
