GB Manual flying

I know that , to some, this may not seem like a significant factor when applying for a new job.... but GB is one airline I could well be interested in working for and would just like to gather as much info as possible.
Three questions
1. What is the GB view on manually flown approaches? My current company encourages it (in appropriate circumstances even with the flight director off). Can make the day a little more satisfying in my book.
2. Am I correct in saying that you do not fly monitored approaches?
3. How long is it between an application being submitted and hearing getting some feedback?

Hello,

Unfortunatly, I don't know the answers to your questions. But I'm interested to know what cpy you are working for now. That manual stuff is something I really like.

Thx

1.

We are not like BA and we allow Manual Thrust on the A320 but not the A321. Most Capt's encourage manual flying but only when conditions allow -- taking the A/P out leaving the OCK hold at LHR might be frowned at, but downroute a lot of the destinations require a visual or non-precision approach to a visual.

2.

We do fly monitored approaches as per BA - BMed don't I hear. You get used to them -- I hated them at first but quite like em especially on the long flights and more interesting approaches.

3.

Depends - No news is good news - any +ve feedback is by phone usually.

3. How long is it between an application being submitted and hearing getting some feedback?
I was contacted by phone maybe six weeks after having submitted application. They appear to hold on to the applications without giving feedback until they have an interview date. I can tell you there was a selection day yesterday.

Hope that helps.
