B737NG EGPWS terrain elevation

Hi.

A question about the B737NG EGPWS terrain elevation display.

When selecting TERR, 2 altitudes appear in the lower left corner of the ND. The upper is the highest terrain shown at that time, but the AOM is very unclear about what the the lower altitude is about.

Anybody knows what this altitude stands for?

Thanks,

It is the the lowest terrain/obstacle elevation currently displayed

geohei,

you might want to read this earlier thread on pprune.org which covers the same topic in-depth.

http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthr...hreadid=166931

Note that the image in this thread shows a 737 classic EHSI which displays peaks mode min/max elevation in large font. On the NG, the same information is displayed in small font size in the lower left part of the ND (below the TERR text indicator). The principle, however, is the same.
