Hi all

EFATO

In the above situation the “manual” calls for the beta target too be centered. However when the flap lever is placed in the flaps up position the beta target reverts to a “standard” sideslip indicator

Q1 what is one “achieving” when one zeros the sideslip indicator?

Q2 what is the difference between a beta indicator and a sideslip indicator?

Looking forward to the answer’s

Thanks for the help

Cheers

Q1 I SHOULD READ

WHAT IS ONE ACHIVING WHEN ONE CENTERS THE BETA TARGET

A1. Minimum drag
A2. Beta Target: Indicates the min -drag condition. Sideslip: Indicates the zero sideslip condition.
I can only assue that this is because the control deflection for zero sideslip (lots of rudder) causes more drag than that for beta target centred (i.e. some sideslip and a bit of roll control).
Hope this helps
