Jet upset

Recently I came a few times across the term Jet-Upset.

What is the definition of this term?
I can't find anything in my books but I assume it has something to do with a high- speed stall, right??

Can someone cast some light on this?

Cheers

In the good olde days of the first jet travel some crews took their flights too high too soon and with the onset on unsettled conditions found themselves in an upset situation.
flying the aircraft too close to the stall buffet speeds either high speed stall then 'low 'speed buffet...The 'stall' speed closed up to the high speed index.
The lessons learn't was that one didn't take the flight too high too soon-despite weather ahead etc...:ok:

Several accidents were credited to this \'causal\' factor until the industry modified it\'s procedures and respected the buffets..:p

thanks oldbloke

Now it is crystal.

On the MD83 the 1.3-g Buffet Boundary had to be strictly observed in order not the end up in the Coffin Corner........

Give Canada my best regards

cheers
