Gps
Hello,
can anyone tell me why i keep losing dual GPS signals overhead the Rimini (Italy) airport? It is a re-occuring problem which solves itself after flying away from the field for about 20 NM. Thanks for any info. |
I believe it's called satellite signal interference. Many countries are actively involved in protecting the frequency spectrum used by the L1 and L2 band, but Italy seems not to be one of them. Thus there are many sources of signal interference in some parts of the country.
I suspect that, in this case, you may find that there is at least one commercial radio station close to Rimini airport that uses a frequency within the L1 band. |
ISTR reading that the Adriatic is the worst place in the world for GPS interference ....
