RB211-524 T/R probs(L1011-500)

We are suffering a lot of thrust reverser problems at the mo. The cheif suspect is dodgey air motors but I donīt believe the mechanics explination that they are all u/s on fit. The last case was yesterday at LPA when after it failed to retract after "a few" attempts on the taxi in, I wound it in manually and had a good look but could find nothing broken. Tried operating it using APU but it would neither deploy fully (it moved about 5 inches) and then would not retract agian. I wound it in again and waited for tech support which arrived 4 hours latter on one of our biz jets. The first thing they did was try to operate it using the apu and it worked pefectly, twice. We had to call it servicable and flew the sector. The techies gave no indication of what they thought the problem had been. I suspect overheating as the only thing that changed was it had cooled down in the 4 hour wait. The thing is this was on no.1, no.2 is already locked shut due to "air motor" so if it was u/s then we couldnīt have done the trip.
I know there are a few 3* guys on the site so any thoughts would be helpfull.
PS. the pressure from all quarters to fly with it wound in but not locked and not use it on landing was both intense and worthless as Iīm currently looking for a good reason to escape this maddness.
PPS. anyone looking for a F/E with 5000+ hrs please e-mail me.

Mmmmm.....As it deployed about 5 ins. that discounts a jammed primary lock, so I would go for the PRSOV first.
