Glareshield and UV rays

Greetings,. .Any idea if the glareshields on the aircraft are coated with UV absorbing/reflecting material ?

Thanks.

The glareshield (the black shelf above the instruments) doesn't need to be coated with UV reflecting material, as the cockpit windows will block UV-B (the injurious part of the UV spectrum). Acrylics, however, will not block UV effects.

UV-C is absorbed by the atmospheric ozone and is not supposed to reach the earth

And if you want to test the UV blocking qualities of your windscreen - try a pair of "peril sensitive" (photochromic) sunglasses up there. They don't darken - well they shouldn't !!
