PC BASED SIMULATOR

What is a good PC based IFR procedures trainer? I have posted this on rotorheads as well.

I'm confused here.

I know there are special training packages. I've got one which I never use. You can customise the display to be like your Aztec or whatever. But you turn with a left turn arrow or some such nonsense.

Yesterday's technology trying to cling onto a niche in the modern world.

Unless you need to see a detailed profile of what you flew (why?) then Microsoft Flight Simulator is what you want - it is like flying a real plane. You have to do everything. It also has thousands of radio aids etc etc. Trivial to get ATC control with or without STARs and SIDS etc etc

What is it that everybody thinks they need beyond this?

Jepessen FlightPro...brilliant, accurate and if you fly to an unfamilliar airport you can practice the approaches using JEPP's huge database.
but..eerh, what does this have to do wit the rotorheads?!?! http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/confused.gif

Try simw.com They're a Belgian flightsim shop with a massive choice and good knowledge on the subject.
