BRNAV

If you donīt have anything in the data base of an FMS so it cannot auto-update its position from a radio source are you still brnav equiped?

FE Hoppy---
Technically no, not in the Lockheed L1011, with dme/dme or radio/dme update. Rocking the boat, perhaps?

FE Hoppy 12th Jun 2001 05:48

No just testing the water!!!!!!!

Alpine Flyer 16th Jun 2001 17:21

Maybe you are if you can manually enter a navaid for auto-updating?

Techman 17th Jun 2001 07:04

I think that if you are less than 2 hours from departure aerodrome you will still be in compliance.

Are you GPS equipped?, if so you will still be ok.

FE Hoppy 18th Jun 2001 02:47

yes the 2 hour rule is correct( read it yesterday) and possibly longer if the ins's are shown to have good drift rates, I cannot find any info on this.

we cannot input manually for auto updates and even if we could we dont have height info for radio beacons.

thanks....
