Could anyone explain why?
As far as I know once the loop is fault, the fire can't be detected unless you switch it off.

My guess is that they are trying to reduce memory items, to better ensure the really urgent ones are committed to memory. Current thinking is we should not think too much for ourselves when troubleshooting systems faults that are not life threatening. Just dig out the QRH and look it up - even if the solution seems obvious.
If the fire detect system goes belly up there should be ample time to look up the procedure. If it goes u/s simultaneous with an actual fire, you are not having a good day...
