Fuel Burn During Climb to Cruise

Following rotation, what would be the typical fuel burn per NM during the climb out for an A321 and B737-800?
Thanks.
Clive

Typical burn approx 2000kg
Typical distance approx 100nm
Therefore typical average burn approx 20kg/nm

As 20 is the average, you will understand that in the early part of the climb, FF will be about 8000kg/hr and speed about 250 kts, giving 32kg/nm.

At TOC, FF will be about 2500kg/hr and speed about 450kts, yielding 6kg/nm.

All these figures are from memory (10 years on 737 and 5 years on A321) so apologies for inaccuracies.

Many thanks for those figures, just what I wanted.
Cheers!

B737-800
Example from a recent flight:
125 nm distance to TOC (FL370 with 26K engines and a TOW of 65 tons)
1900 kg of fuel burn
19 minutes flying time
fuel/nm 1900/125 = 15.2 kg/nm
2404 kg/hour average fuel-flow per hour for entire flight
2190 kg/hour in first hour of cruise flight

Thanks Skyjob,

I realise that I inadvertently doubled the cruise FF! I think that I remembered the total of about 2500kg/hr but then calculated as if it was per engine. I’ve corrected my previous post.

Sorry Ancient-Mariner!
