Air Operations - Regulation No 965/2012

Hi folks,

As far as I know in EU we have Commission Regulation(EU) No 965/2012 of 5 October 2012 laying down technical requirements and administrative procedures related to air operations pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 216/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council

which is commonly named as EU-OPS. And I have some questions about it.

Maybe I am wrong but before this regulation we had in EU older EU-OPS which was COMMISSION REGULATION (EC) No 859/2008
of 20 August 2008 amending Council Regulation (EEC) No 3922/91 as regards common technical requirements and administrative procedures applicable to commercial transportation by aeroplane.

I am concerned and very confused becuse in 965/2012 we don`t have a lot of things that was in 859/2008. For example:

RVR/visibility for take-off
Nil (Day only) 500 m
Runway edge lighting and/or centreline marking 250/300 m
Runway edge and centreline lighting 200/250 m
Runway edge and centreline lighting and multiple RVR information 150/200m

etc

Fuel Policy: Reduced Contigency, 3% ERA, PDP procedures. Even contingency is not stated as 5% or route or 5` of holding @ 1500 ft AGL.

RVR/CMV conditions: not for takeoff if RVR is available etc. There is only definition of it.

No tables of failed or downgraded equipment & effect on minima.

No requirements for visual reference required to continue approach below minima...

Am I miss something? Where is those stuff instead? Operator can use rules at own discretion or maybe there is another document which states those things?

859/2008 was commonly named EU Ops whereas 965/2012 is commonly called EASA Ops if I'm not mistaken.

Much of the detail from the EU OPS regs has been transposed into the new Air Operations Regulation 965/2012, however they have been split up differently:

Definitions
ARO : Authority requirements for Operations
ORO : Organisation Requirements for Operations
CAT : commercial air transport (much of what you are looking for is here)
SPA : operations requiring special approval (RVSM, LVP, MNPS)

There is also an associated AMC and GM for each regulation which has further detail.

Look into AMC/GM (Acceptable Means of Compliance/ Guidance Material) which is a separate document. A lot of stuff has been moved there.

Okay - now is clear - I was not aware that all parts have separate AMC GM. Answer is within part CAT AMC GM. Thank you very much! Now is simple
