Boeing 727 Anti Skid with REL lights
Hello,
I am trying to simulate a 727 cockpit. I realise I have my REL lights back to front. ....that is an inboard test should result in outboard REL lights. DOH.
My question is what colour should the REL light be please? ....I'm thinking amber not green.

Sorry I don't know the colour but quite a few 727's had nose wheel brakes.
So they also had 5 release lights. ( single anti skid system for both nose wheels )
Checklist response by the F/E before T/O was "Anti-skid 5 releases".
I suspect they were green, as they wanted to see the lights on, green is good!!

The 72's I flew the Nose brakes were disconnected, C/L call was Antiskid 4 release, Speed brake lever etc etc.
I am thinking white colour too Wodrick but stand to be corrected as its been a while flying the Dart. Loved it compared to the 320 as well.

They're white lights. The mnemonic is "You go blank on a test" meaning you forget everything. What happens is you are sending a fake turning signal from the wheel set you test (inboard or outboard) to the anti-skid box. The box then releases pressure from the other set of wheels so that they too can turn. You would not want to see these lights on in normal ops.
Most air carriers removed the nose brakes as they (1) only came on when the brake pedals were depressed more than 50% (2) weighted a couple hundred pounds which is a passenger if you're weight limited. I've seen a few VIP planes that still had them because their CG was messed up with all the stuff in back and they needed ballast up front.
