What as waste of precious server space.
A. He went around so what?
B. He landed so what?

WC, my point is that the AP disconnecting itself is irrelevant to the subject at hand, ie. loss of ILS signal when you're visual. The AP disconnecting itself stems from yet another irrelevant war story.

An autopilot disconnect is a non event. Everybody should be able to hand fly a simple ILS approach. We all grew up with the ability to fly to 200 ft and a half mile with no problem. It still isn't a problem. Now we have cat 3 approaches that require more procedures but when was your last cat 3 approach other in a sim? In my career, none. 23,000 hrs and nothing much happened. Had to use the slides once because of a positive bomb threat and smoke in aircraft having to return to MIA but nothing worth saying.

Flying is pretty much uneventful now days. That is good.

It wasn't my idea to evacuate, it was required by our airline procedures. I just had to follow procedure even though I knew it was false. What would you do? Ignore it? I am sure that would get the FAA's attention.

Pappy, we now know you are south of the north pole. Is there anything else you can contribute worthy of posting?

An autopilot disconnect is also nothing to do with this thread. It cropped up because you brought it up for no particular reason other than to bash your keyboard warrior style. STOP IT. We're all bored of hearing how many times you've landed somewhere or how many hours you've got.

CAT 3s? Half a dozen in the last 7 months. Seems like you've lead a pretty sheltered career.

west coast - I have read it as well and cannot see where 'autopilot' is involved. Can you guide us?

WC, I'm talking about the posts on irrelevant topics not the irrelevant topics specifically.

Here's the title again for you - ILS signal lost during final. Feel free to read the very first post and then tell us where the OP asks about auto pilots tripping off then kindly let us know where and when that specific topic was brought up.

Jetblast would be good. I guess we should say by the title of this thread is if you lose the localizer in the clouds, go around. End of story.
