I dont think people are being ignorant, as a simmer myself i regard this is a serious forum thats best left to the pros who fly or work on the real thing, as opposed to us chaps who play at it, we have our own area why not use it.

A couple of points, if I may ..

(a) we have no problem with welcoming those from the flight sim community so long as their input and questions have relevance to the real thing. Having known several PhD types in that fraternity I suggest that the real world folk can learn from the flight sim folk on occasion ..

(b) I see a comment relating to non-native English speakers. We welcome all folk, regardless of origin and tongue. It is up the English speakers to make the effort to understand .. not for the non-native speaker to achieve fluent English.

A little bit of polite give and take and consideration makes it far more pleasant for everyone, I suggest ..

John, would it be possible to create a new sub forum where simmers can ask and those of us who want to answer do so? That way those that are annoyed by SIM questions have an easier time to avoid it and those that have no problem in answering often quite intriguing questions about the difference between the real world and simulations may do so as well?

I have no clue about the difficulties there, but would see it as a second "Questions" thing.

Thank you John.
According to the policy I can have this specific question.
If I didn't tell you it's a simulator you probably reacted different.
I don't call myself a gamer for flying the simulator, it's a little insulting because I'm working hard for this knowledge, I already learn IFR, if you want some Europe flying pictures at the simulator I can send you, just ask for it.
Anyway, because I want to respect all the people that it bugs them, I will consider them and next time I'll say that it's a simulator issue even if the policy don't say it.

Good stuff Avis, just make it clear in the title that it is for a PC sim and then all the people who read it will be keen to help.

If this was the good old days pre 9/11, Avis 1 could have had his question answered in flight.
Here is a guy with an interest in a great a/c so let's not discourage any young persons quest for info. Who cares where the question was generated from, sim, imagination or somewhere in between.
Avis, ask away. If people have the time to read your post, they also have the time to respond with info and encouragement. If you ever fly the 737NG for real, you're going to love it. Good luck.

Hello Avis1, welcome to the forums

Firstly, you don't need to apologise for your English. It is very good and much better than most people here's Hebrew!

Secondly, don't be put off by some slightly negative responses here. When I was your age I had a similar experience on here but to be honest I was actually asking some fairly dumb questions. Your question shows you have already done a lot of work on this and I also agree with you that to call your flight sims "games" is a bit demeaning. I have flown the NG in the past and I must admit I had to stop and think for a minute before I remembered the answer to your question.

I don't think it matters that Avis1 flys on his PC. The fact is he was asking about a real life procedure here so why can't he just get a simple answer without people deeming him "not worthy" of the knowledge! What would make him worthy: PPL? CPL? Type rating?!?

Well done Avis1, you clearly have good technical knowledge already and I hope you get to fly the Boeing one day, it's fantastic!

Thank you for cheering reply, really, not only you, all of you !
That's exactly how I felt, only bcause I'm a simulator pilot I'm not worthy ?
am I need an ATPL license to be worthy ?
The greatness in life is to not judge people only because his skills/ratings or whatever else, we are all humans beings !
Kind Regards,
Avi.
