We've come full circle

Reading of the Boeing 787 electrical fire, I was intrigued to see that it has no CSDs, not bleed air but compressors for pressurisation and frequency wild AC for anticing also, electric starter motors. And I thought how familiar, why, that's how we did it on the old Vanguard.

Indeed,

In fact, when first proposed, the 787 was known as the 7E7, the "E" being for "Electrical".

Using electrically driven pumps for air systems and hydraulics (it ALSO has no Engine driven Hydraulic pumps) allows load to follow demand and leads to fuel savings.
