Post Help with some 767 Q's please!

Studying for 767 conversion, which is in a few weeks, currently on 757 and the 'search' isn't working!
Can you use VNAV with altn EEC? Does the air demand pump power anything else apart from gear and anti-ice? Do you get continous ignition with a flaps1 T/O on a 767-31K ER? Many thanks.

From memory.

I have heard of no interaction between the EECs and the FMS.

The demand pump supplies the centre hydraulic system during times of high demand. This is normally during gear and flap operation.

It has no connection to the anti-ice system.

Continuous ignition comes on with flap 1.

(No guarantees of course. Check the manual)

How are you doing a differences course without a Manual?

To Quote
Air Demand Pump
The center system has a bleed air dirven hydraulic pump which provides hydtaulic power. The air demand pump selector determins the pump mode of operation. In the Auto postion, the air pump operates whenever system pressure is low or when large demand systems such as landing gear flaps/slats and ground spoilers are operated. In the On position, the pump runs continuously.
The Hydraulic Driven Generator is automatically powered by the center hydrautic system when electrical power is lost from both main AC busses. The center Air Demand Pump will then operate continuously to ensure sufficient power to drive the generator.

757... You may find the excellent 757/767 systems comparisons and oral base check questions booklet, written by United ground instructor Mr Tomas R Gouch [email protected] or http://ourworld.com/homepages/t_gooch/
has the information you need.
Or at his mail address 646 Norfolk Way Aurora, Ca. 80011-7653.
This is a 1993 publication and based on Uniteds 757-200 and 767-200.
Hope this helps.

ADP can operate everything in the centre system....
To run in Auto
1) both centre ACMP s/w off
2)slats/flaps disagree with flap lever pos'n
3)landing gear and L/G lever disagree
4)speedbrake armed a/c on ground
5)HMG is on
6)low centre system pressure 2400 psi or less

p.s I believe the ignition will be contious if flaps are not up TAI is on and fuel cut off swith is in run

hope this helps.

"Can you use VNAV with altn EEC?"

The selection of ALTN EEC's may stop you using the Autothrottle, in which case, you won't be able to use VNAV to its full potential (This is especially so on those aircraft which use EPR's as the primary engine parameter, such as Rolls Royce. Selecting ALTN EEC's will revert the engines to N1 control instead of EPR control. The A/T cannot set the thrust if the EPR is unknown).

Regards.

On our old -200s the ADP would run continuously (obviously when there was air) when the switch was positioned to AUTO and the left MLG door was open. The auto function activated through the open door lock. I accidently discovered this when pressurizing the C system to shut the door after checking the inclinometers for a fuel drip.

There was a SB issued about 10 years or so ago to provide continuous ignition when flaps 1 were selected. Prior to this we had to remember to do it manually.

Cheers.
