Oh, to have been a fly on the wall...
|
I'd rather have been a fly on the wall than a cover on the seat!
|
Now then V1........
........If we all wish, then I'm sure the Capt will be able to pull back and rotate......I said rotate......ROTATE!
Can I smell something.......?! Anyone feel he/she maybe in need of some more training on performance perhaps?!:D What about this (I know it's been seen before!) as a "reverse", I like to be a Fly-on-the-wall for this approach! http://www.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/open.file/201517/M/ What ever happened to the AF Capt who supposedly took the fence down the runway with him? |
Watched a BOAC 707 roll....and roll...on 25L in LAX years ago, became airborne in the last 500 feet (12,000 feet long), enroute to LHR.
Straight-pipe 707's had runway performance alright...mostly bad. |
...of course, it could always be a piccy of the landing!
|
Fences are inanimate but how about the trees?
How would you like to have been a tree or even a fly on the tree. Trees and even flys have feelings too.
:D |
No camera,
BUT A couple spring to mind A Royal Air Force SH5 Belfast doing "autoland" trials at Brum [EGBB/BHX] in 1970. Touchdown on R/w 33 is north of the R/w 33/24 intersection. A/c lands and engages "reverse" for a few seconds [memory hazy as to how long], puts power on and rotates in the "turning circle" and climbs at 3.5 degrees  A PIA B742, Manch-Islamabad [EGCC-OPRN] departs r/w 06 [Uphill, warm night, oh yes...the INBOUND freight is still on the a/c   ] A "few" tiles were dislodged on climbout:D we aim to please, it keeps the cleaners happy |
On the Air France photo I am a bit concerned about what is going on in the BOTTOM right corner...
