Another generous Gesture for the PPRuNe Fund

A well respected groundschool organisation has offered up to 5 JAA/ATPL courses per year at NO cost to the PPRuNe Fund.

It is their idea of 'Putting something back' too. Our wannabes are certainly getting support!

They wish to remain anonymous on the basis that they have no wish to make capital or PR from their most generous gesture.

Your applause please!

togaroo 9th January 2001 13:15

Excellent!!

Thanks to who ever you are!

pjdj777 9th January 2001 13:46

that's awesome, nice one

ohtofly 9th January 2001 14:59

wow, so when do the selections start? Its good to see that the flying schools arent the money grabbers their made out to be all the time.

Do you have the sort code and account number for the pprune fund yet so I can make my donation electronically

ExSimGuy 9th January 2001 15:03

An impressive action! Even more impressive is their wish to "slip their gift qietly into the box", remain anonymous and not make any "capital" out of it.

They know who they are, and our thanks go to them; they will get their reward :)

That really is fantastic, and it goes against what is often heard/said about the major flying schools.

Thank you which ever school you are.

Flypuppy 9th January 2001 17:09

That is an amazingly generous gesture :)

Will this start an avalanche of donations from other companies, such as those that will benefit directly from the PPRuNe Fund? Airlines for example ;)

InFinRetirement 9th January 2001 22:15

One can only hope Flypuppy. But the organisation has, as you rightly say, opened up the opportunity for us to show the airlines what kind of attitude we have here on PPRuNe. You may rest assured that I have shown PPRuNe's appreciation.

It will, of course, be realised one day who they are by everyone, then you can throw accolades after the gentleman concerned.

Nice way to start 2001 though eh?

Bank Account: Took the signed papers there today, will have an account to-morrow if I have haven't made a cods-ear of them. Don't think so.

I will get Danny to post the bank details at the top of Aircrew Notices when they are known.

Just like to add my appreciation to the list. That is an incredibly generous thing to have done.

Thanks.

HugMonster 9th January 2001 22:50

Excellent gift - extremely generous. And a vote of thanks, too, to IFR for all his hard work so far, and the extraordinary results he's been achieving! Take a bow, IFR! :)

A truly generous gesture. In my opinion aimed where the help is required, at the upper end of pilot training.

InFinRetirement 11th January 2001 04:09

The owner of the school must be chuffed to see that his generosity is being received so well. I know I am. Thanks.

scroggs 11th January 2001 13:03

IFR and the donor GS - well done, a brilliant start to the Pprune fund's campaign!

Perfect PFL 11th January 2001 16:58

Very generous, good to see there are people out there willing to help us poor wannabees :)

Snigs 12th January 2001 01:23

Methinks I know who it is!! :)

Your generosity knows no bounds, I doff my cap to you.

TrueNorth 12th January 2001 18:25

Good grief!! The best news I`ve heard this millenium! The power of PPRuNe is a wonderful thing. The efforts of those involved in the project are to be commended - truly above and beyond, I feel.

Deeply-felt gratitude from this wannabe...

Yesterday, I was introduced to a friend of Nearly Man, in fact we had a fine lunch together. This gentleman, for that is what he is, is an aviation nut! He was also in the OBSERVER CORPS in 1947. He has in his possession mint condition, unopened packets of silhouettes of German aircraft and British aircraft, these are much sought after. He also has a lot of other aviation memorbilia including very old copies of aviation mags.

He has invited me to his home to discuss these 'treasures' and will donate all of them to the fund for auction. Some are very valuable indeed. THIS..............after he has already agreed to print 1000 copies of the TSR2 for free. It is 360 of these that will be signed by Roland 'Bee' Beamont. We reckon the signed versions should go for around £75 each with a special price for numbers 100/200 and 300. The unsigned version will be around £15.

I tell you! This fund means something to a lot of people when they hear about it. And even he wants to put something back. He is also a magistrate, which will no doubt please JP Justice. We'll have two on PPRuNe then (if we don't already have others too modest to say so).

There will be yet more good news to-morrow!!!
