The Intercontinental Hotel In Abhu Dhabi has a Breitling shop in the lobby which I am assured is spectacularly cheap.

Remember though, it wont make you a better pilot or lover and it will tell the time with less precision than a Seiko Quartz.

They are considered a little "gauche" for those in the "know", very Calvin Klein if you know what I mean.

And for goodness sake don't turn up at the flying club bar flashing the one with the 121.5 transmitter in it. You will be regret it and the indulgent smiles cast your way for a long time.

Just picked up a Breitling Aerospace in the Breitling shop, Dera centre, Dubai city centre, for approx £720 (i believe £1200 in UK). The chap in the shop knocks off 30% of RRP without prompting. Duty free at APT wouldn't do better than RRP, which was 5400 dirhams, got it for 3780 dirhams (good exchange rate on credit card (5.25).

Got my Breitling in Hong Kong 12 years ago for a really good price.

Found out later that Dubai was $50.00 cheaper.

Been happy with the thing, it runs like a swiss watch..... :)

Looks I have to go east or get a better job.
Any change of getting it via the net?

Thank you!

I bought mine on Aruba.
But I heard you also need to check out the tax free shop at your airport.

keepitlit 21st October 2000 23:39

Just bought a Breitling "Aerospace" in Lanzarote for £750 tax free due to the strong Pound,I believe they retail for about £1600

I prefer the Bankok Bleitling models. Mine has been ticking for 5 years now, no worries. Buy the Taiwan models, they are better than the Hong Kong ones.

I wear a Casio watch obtained from the local garage - free with £25 worth of petrol - accurate to a second a month! - bargain, I'll spend the £1000 odd quid saved on some flying.

Hello all you watchers...

I got my Breitling B-1 from Playa de las Americas on the Island of Tenerife, Spain for 1500 USD. Don't think that you can get it any cheaper anywhere. It did take me 3 days of extensive bargaining to get the price down that low. Though it was newer higher than 1800 USD.
Will provide the address later... They do give Crew discounts too and take allmost any currency and creditcards

Chaps

This subject was covered a few weeks ago on the Mil Pilots forum. You can find 'deals' on that thread if you so desire!
