a wild fly-by ......
 
I was looking for a photo of a C141 following a wing collapse in Memphis on this military transporter and completely by accident came across the photo in the web add'y below ....

its such a wild picture that I though you might like to see it(hope the boss won't mind me posting this - it is christmas) ...... I didn't believe the photo till I read the caption

Hmmm.. reminds me of a fly-by at Heathrow some tome ago. A DC-9 with a gear problem asked to fly-by so we could take a look.. He came across 28L (yes - old controller here!) threshold and turned straight for the tower. He passed us absolutely level with the windows which meant he crossed T2 with feet to spare. I kid you not - people outside T2 threw themselves on the ground. It was brilliant!!!
