Does anyone know any good websites or resources (books etc.)? ive just started learning how to glide, and reading some stuff is bound to help.

Thanks in advance.

Look for books by Derek Piggott...

He seems to be the man with the know-how in the gliding world!

Good luck with your gliding. It is good to start young.
Your British Gliding Association site at www.gliding.co.uk is the best place to start.
The comment about Derek Pigott is correct. His books are the best in the business and you can find him at Lasham.
One day you should visit OZ where the gliding is great!!!!!

Ken Stewart's book, The Glider Pilots Manual is also worth a look. I've owned it for a couple of years and its still handy for reference. Best of luck - its a great way to start.

gliding is the best way to go, when hooked on flying. Been flying for 15 y and am now also a p.p
Look for H.Reichman cross country gliding when you get a bit further

All good advice. I notice you're at Newcastle. Which club have you joined wouldn't be Currock Hill would it?

If you have any questions, let me know, I was instructing full time for a few years before I got a proper job!

Maybe see you in the air sometime. I head up north every now and again from a well known hill top site in Yorkshire.

it would happen to be Currock Hill.
its a good club, local, but the road into the car park, you need a tank!

Thanks for all the help,
