Parked plane rudder.

I was at heathrow yesterday and noticed 3 aer lingus airbus planes in a row parked at gates and they all had their rudders left fully deflected to the right. Why is this? To stop it blowing around in the wind?

The rudder is unpowered once hydraulic systems shut down. There is no gust-lock or such, you only saw them weathervane.

The Airbus 330 looks wierd at rest also with both ailerons drooping

... and it's quite strange to watch A.330 ailerons silently return to the neutral position as you're walking at the end of the wing during pushback.
