BMI A320 Display
 

REad with interest on t'web that a BMI A320 will do a 'flypast AND display' at the Jersey Airshow this weekend.

I think it's also formating with the Reds.

It would seem to be so!

bmi Airbus Fleet Manager travelled upt to GLA today & will pick up G-MIDP & take it to JER for the display.

If anyone manages to get some photos please post them on this thread.

Tis true, but it isn't this weekend it is tomorrow, Thursady 13th September.

Rehearsal early aswell tomorrow, I believe. Maybe that idea was ditched, though.

I hear there's been a few problems in the fact that the Reds want to fly the display at around 300kts but the radius of turns for the A320 at that speed are too great for the team. They're having to slow the formation down to around 220kts for the flyby. Should make a fantastic photo and it looks like it'll be a beautiful day for it. CAVOK forecast all day!

A320 at an airshow? Ooer missus... :uhoh:

OK.....nobody else has asked ..so I will .....WHY? Why BMi and why with the reds? Not exactly Concorde is she?

Becuase it looked good and they could?

One might as well ask "Why the Mona Lisa?".

Oh and I suppose it is good PR for BMI. That's OK as well, I fly them as SLF on London-Belfast a lot and they are still a proper airline with proper service so all power to them.

Fair enough..but I am more used to the reds doing something with a bit of panache......:hmm:

Yeah but they're poseurs; they'll formate on anything if it gets them in the news.
