Ex Buffalo DC-4 in Hay River
I was staying the night in Hay River last Friday and went for a walk around town. Came across a scrap yard with two and a half DC-3s and an ex Buffalo Airways DC-4. It was late evening and the place was shut so I couldn't investigate further. To satisfy my curiosity, does anyone have I/Ds on these a/c?

Thanks PaperTiger.
C-GXKN was the DC-4 they pranged in Norman wells and transported back to Hay River on a barge. CF-QHY could well be one of the DC-3s. C-GNTK however is not known to the Canadian register. It was previously a Cessna 303 Crusader. Anyone else with some info please? |
When I visited Hay River back in 2000 there were 3 Dc-3's in the storage yard.
One marked up as C-GNTK (Canadian military colours) which is apparently c/n 13149. One in Kenn Borek Air c/s and one in bare metal which are apparently C-FQHF c/n 13392 & C-FROD C/n 12307, which is which I cannot recall. Hope this helps. Geo73 |
