Tu-144 & Concorde

Just out of curiosity, has there been anyone who has flown/flown on both a Tu-144 and a Concorde?

Has there been any ‘real world’ comparison, other than ‘tech spec shoot outs’ across both types?

I don't think the Tu144 could cross the Atlantic non stop, especially with passengers and although faster than Concorde it never got past the prototype stage - or did it? Paris Air Show didn't help matters either.

Can`t help on question 1... but

Tupolevs Website (well worth a visit anyway) has an interesting and candid article reagrding your second question...

or maybe the French and British didn't help

there was a documentary in the series "Secret History" (Ch4 or BBC2 - I forget) that documents the lead up to the Paris Airshow crash - very revealing indeed!

Yes the tupolev went beyond prototype. It was briefly used for scheduled service between moscow and siberia (novosibirsk ? not sure). The rare travellers say it was unconfortable and noisy. Having accomplished the demonstration role it was quickly retired.
