Merlin in Newcastle
 

Hi just got this email from a non-spotter mate who has an office in Regent Centre in Gosforth in Newcastle.

Though he's not a spotter he does know the difference between a Merlin and other types of helo. I guess he's talking about an HC3 rather than a grey cab.

"Single Merlin came screaming in past my office window (literally a few metres from me, at eye level - looked way too adventurous/close to buildings for a "standard" stop, compared to the way I used to see them land when I lived in Spital Tongues) for a low/hard/fast landing on the back field at Gossy High."


I think he mens the helicopter landed on the playing field of Gosforth High School.

I guess this happened either Thursday or Friday.

Any ideas as to what it was up to?
