707 going into manchester?????
 

Hi all I was in northwich today thus 5/8/04 at about 12.55 when a loud jet passed overhead at about 3.500ft going east, prob into manchester, I think it was a boeing 707 maybe a DC-8 but think it was prob a 707, it had the old narrow type engines the noisy ones, anybody know anything about it.

Sorry dont know, I was driving at the time head out of the window, plus it was overhead not able to see any tail markings.

Thanks morrissey very interesting, at 1st I thought my eyes were playing tricks, I have not see a 707 for many years, a fine sight.

Try Ben Gurion Airport (Tel Aviv), The IDF have a bunch of 707s sat on the Military Ramp. They do a daily flight (or used to) down to Uvda (about 45 km NNW of Elat). You'll be surprised what you come across in the Negev - we found 6 "dead" Skyhawks during the weekend. Also found a couple of camels too, but that's a different story.

I wouldn't be inclinded to take too many pictures though (except for the camels). Security is tight and a damn site more agressive than a Bobby moving you on.
