Disabled person flying
Hi - I am British and now live in the USA. Does anyone know a good resource for finding out where I can get my PPL over here? I am trying to locate a good school that has adapted aircarft and the right instructors
Thanks |
I'm pretty sure there's a disabled pilots association. Haven't a clue what it might be called (er....'Disabled Pilots Association'? :hmm: ). AOPA in the US would probably be able to direct you.

Can't help you in the States but in the UK last I heard John Askew based at Barton near Manchester was chairman of the Delta Foxtrot Club and is keen to help out wherever you are. Try writing to him c/o Barton Airport, Manchester, UK

You should try to get in touch with Mike Smith, who runs a school at Big Bear In California.
Mike is president of the International Wheelchair Pilot Association, and fly, commercially a C337 Skymaster . I think he is involved in Part135 Operations. A great man. I'll try to find his contact details; meanwhile, take a look here or there |
