Unmanned Mig-23 Crash July 89
Almost forgotten by most but for me it was the strangest thing I've ever seen on a radar tube. Flying through the German, Dutch and Belgian airspace in the middle of the day without anybody on board at FL 350, if I recall it well. Unreal. The chaos in the Ops room, the fighters being scrambled and the waiting for the crash. Never saw anything like that again since that day.

Agreed, one of the strangest days at work. When the LJAO controller pointed the situation out to me, I first thought it was April 1st.

I was on Southern Q that day and for the guy who got launched we thought it would be a fair fight!;)
