Unbelievable? On the contrary, it's eminently believable.

Well it is clearly happening but not quite sure to follow the rationale...

For me the rationale is actually quite evident.

If they are contracting in size they may not have a need for the aircraft. Maybe (if, fingers crossed, there is a rebound) they can get a good price for their A350s. There could be cost savings from fleet commonality. Maybe they have a better financing deal on their B787. Any number of possible factors...
