Civilian V tailed jet
 

I saw a V tailed jet that looked civilian (not that I can think of any military ones either) fly over Dallas yesterday. Engines must have been mounted on the body because the wings were clean. Fuselage seemed wideish too if that makes sense - so probably side by side seating

Something is ringing a faint bell, like Cirrus maybe, but I can't place it. Any ideas (and sorry no pics)?

Most likely the Cirrus, particularly as it looked pudgy.

Quite a few ex-mil Fouga Magisters wound up in civvy hands in the US in the 1980s/90s, but they do look quite slender... there appear to be three in Texas, at Cypress, Colleyville and Gatesville.

Colleyville is a local suburb, so maybe that was the one

The numbers are eye watering though: Two million to buy then a lifetime of 12,000 hours, meaning $166 an hour just in capital loss. I guess that's because it's all carbon fibre, Then 48 to 60 gph depending on how hard you push it and that's before you include an hourly maintenance fund

So at 100hrs/year that’s barely 120 years !!

We had an Italian built V tailed side by side 2 seat jet at the Fanborough airshow one year; can't remember its name (Microjet?).
It would take off before the F16 and climb to its display height while the F16 displayed so would taxy ahead of the F16, who took great delight in taxying with the F16 cockpit over/between the V tail of the other aircraft!!

The Microjet was French design, Chevvron - about the same time (1978?) there was also an updated version of the Magister, the Fouga 90, being touted...

Of course, the Stealth Fighter also had - has! - a butterfly tail...

There were 2 of these mini jets at Farnborough that year, I think one was French, the other Italian; one had the V tail (Marmande Microjet 200) and the other a T tail (Caproni Vizzola C22J)

There was the CM-191 but only a couple built of the 4 seater
