Just notired the Maleth A340 out of Bournemouth to China now returning to Bournemouth after doing a 180 over Russia.

One of the China cargo hubs rumoured to be blighted with Covid-19.

Paper work issue that should hopefully be resolved soon as those aircraft bring in nearly all of the NHS test kits. Approx 2 million on each flight

OK chaps, I am so curious here over the Maleth flights into BOH from either X'ian-XMN-ICN-KIX. Three times over the last week I have tracked their flights into BOH, thinking whoops, off track, too high and too fast. Not surprisingly overshoot, go round wake everyone up from Sturminster Newton to Bear Cross at 2,000' before landing. Yes Flightradar24 can be a bit "iffy" at times:-) Anyone have any ideas?
Their training flights normally whizz off and blast Cardiff for most of a day.
Thank-you.

Have you noticed that when they "overshoot, too high and too fast, and go around", they are heading on the reciprocal of the landing direction, at around 3,000 feet ?

I guess it's a Procedural Approach rather than Radar Vectors. I would have thought they could set up an RNAV approach for 08, so perhaps it is for training.
The one I watched didn't do the turn the way we used to do it.
Dixi.

Outbound track of 275° matches exactly, albeit the Procedure Turn looks a tad wobbly.

The one I watched a couple of weeks ago went straight out on runway heading and turned left to intercept the C/L from the south.
As an aside, how soon until the magnetic variation changes the runway to 07/25. When I started flying out of Hurn I think the QFU was 083, I see it's now 075?

My trusty calculator reckons 08 is aligned at 75.27°T (AIP says 75.30°). Current mag var is next to nothing, changing at 0.20°E/year, so give it a couple of years and it will be 07,
