Antonov 124-100 (says Fr24) at FL300, GS ca. 400 Kts.

Apparently en-route from Leipzig Halle tracking towards Geneva (until I stopped looking).

NO registration. NO Flt No: NO routing/timing. NO call sign. NO photo. Nor any of the details shown on Fr24 by a "normal commercial flight".

???

Interesting that FR24 didn't have a registration, and yet was able to identify the type. Out of interest, what was the hex code?

Thanks.

Wonder why over Switzerland though (no idea where it ended up, it was simply headed "in the general direction of" Geneva. I stopped looking so no idea where it was really going - AND if not bound for GVA, I wonder what over flight permission/s it had).

It went to Istres

This has now had a leisurely trip onwards, and is currently in Orlando MCO. Maybe the crew have had a day off at Disney World.

I see that G-LUXE, the prototype BAe 146, is at 34000ft. over Hampshire at the moment. As well as being stretched into a 146-300, did it get the uprated ALF507 engines of the RJ instead of the 502s.
IIRC the original 146 was limited to 31000ft. where as the RJ was certified to 35000ft.

dixi188 13th Mar 2024 16:38

If you were near Amesbury at the moment and looked up you might see two BAe 146s at the same time. Quite rare I would think these days G-ETPK and G-LUXE.

Yes, according to the G-INFO website, G-LUXE does indeed have ALF507s.

Dave

It isn't particularly unusual for FR24 to show a type, but no registration. All 'blocked' business jets (mostly the corporate rather than AOC operated ones) will be displayed this way. Also some operators that fly mostly for the military, such as Omni Air International, will just be shown with a type; no callsign and no registration.

Different on some of the other trackers (e.g. ADS-B Exchange) where none of the data is filtered.

Concorde in the air where she should always belong, yes I know she is dangling from a crane , the restoration looks good keeping her looking beautiful as ever.

Its not "dangling from a crane"; its a demonstration of Fly-by-Wire!

Judging by the number of "JKY" helicopters buzzing around, The Cheltenham Festival is of great benefit to the rotary folk...

SLXOwft 15th Mar 2024 14:54

Less suprisingly perhaps, but Qinetiq's RJ70 G-ETPK flying some slightly whacky patterns over east Wiltshire and west Somerset.

I have seen that RJ?146 meandering about that part of the world I live just south of Frome and out in deepest darkest summerset could even hear it on one occasion even though it was fairly hi, suspected at the time it as climbing hence the noise.Any idea what it does ?

treadigraph 16th Mar 2024 19:02

Judging by the reg, Empire Test Pilots School are the operator, so assume it's the latest course of test pilots and flight test engineers undergoing training.

I was recently on BA G-TTNA. What is the special paint scheme? Cheers.

treadigraph 17th Mar 2024 17:21

T-6 just grumbled over me on the common... First radial I've heard this year... Heading west, not on ADSB...

G-ARZG 17th Mar 2024 17:29

BA's 'Better World ’ campaign.

It sports the slogan 'Our most important journey yet,' regarding their path to Net Zero emissions.

PAXboy 17th Mar 2024 21:32

Thank You. I'm not sure that a full paint job - that is hardly seen - helps them on the way to Zero. I suspect the folks in marketing ate three Shredded Wheat one day ...
