Airbridge to Amman

Interesting they choose Jordan to store their aircrafts. I guess they don't see any geopolitical risk there in the short term...

Might be less prone to weather Related issues in the Desert

Very likely, yes. Seems a reasonable choice all things considered.

And LX is a customer of an AMM MRO...

hmm interesting - didn't realise.

Now after having received a 1+bn CHF bailout, I wonder if they shouldn't try to spend that money in country (I don't speak parking - Jordan seems to present a good mix between climate, distance, price and security, but actual qualified maintenance work)...

You mean the 'local' MRO jointly owned by Chinese (HNA) and UAE (Mubadala)?

Interesting world we live in... fair point. Still paying local wages, rents an taxes (hopefully)

There were plenty of Iraqi Airways 707's/727's stored there at one time, all in perfect condition. Not sure if they're still there now. So it makes sense to store aircraft in the dry heat.

All scrapped in situ about 10 years ago.

Let's hope a different fate for the LX fleet...

Looking at FR24 quite a lot of widebodies position to Amman. I don't know if Swiss have a maintenance contract there.
