Now after having received a 1+bn CHF bailout, I wonder if they shouldn't try to spend that money in country (I don't speak parking - Jordan seems to present a good mix between climate, distance, price and security, but actual qualified maintenance work)... |
You mean the 'local' MRO jointly owned by Chinese (HNA) and UAE (Mubadala)?

There were plenty of Iraqi Airways 707's/727's stored there at one time, all in perfect condition. Not sure if they're still there now. So it makes sense to store aircraft in the dry heat.

Looking at FR24 quite a lot of widebodies position to Amman. I don't know if Swiss have a maintenance contract there.
