Cityjet Superjets
 

Hi iam trying to find out about the future of the Superjet with Cityjet
hear January 7th will mark the end with Brussel Airlines use
I did ask in the Birmingham tag but no joy
Be good to capture a few
anyone got any info out there

All but one of Cityjet's SSJs are currently parked, as will likely be the one coming back from Brussels AL, and those due for delivery have been cancelled.

That might give you a clue. :O

I'll be amazed if in a couple of years' time there are any SSJs left in service outside Russia.

By all accounts an excellent aircraft but let-down by (a) Sukhoi's inexperience in civil ops, with a strict MEL that grounds aircraft for minor issues and (b) a sluggish support chain that routes everything through Superjet International in Vienna. And when a part does arrive at the correct location, an SSJ-qualfied tech has to get there to install it.

Such a pity as it had a good chance of getting into the Western market, but support is what keeps aeroplanes flying.
