BA269 Nov 6th
Friend of mine is travelling today on BA269 to LAX.
Had a quick look at FR24 to check progress. I was surprised to see it turning back to LHR after passing The Outer Hebrides in Scotland. it is now in the hold over LHR. Can anyone shed any lght ? El Grifo |
From the BA Source
British Airways A380 G-XLEE operating BA269 London Heathrow – Los Angeles was to the north-west of Benbecula this afternoon when it turned back to London Heathrow due to a technical issue. |
Thanks !
That was about as much as I could get also ! Still in the hold. On it's 12th circuit. Dumping fuel ? El G. |
Approach now c/s BA269PAN. I wouldn't worry all seems under control.

Thanks :-)

It was, apparently, due to a problem with #4 engine.

Only Eastbounds do the LAX LHR with just the three engines..... 😖 |

After the fallout from the B744 incident I don't think BA will be in any hurry to cross the pond again with one not working. |
Especially when heading away from home plate!!

Technically even the eastbound LAX - LHR didn't make it with three engines. It got as far as MAN I recall...
