TUI Airways Boeing 737MAX
Can anyone confirm a planned delivery date/month for TUI's first couple of B737-8s? Saw from Airline Route that the type goes into service on 1 December 2018 from Manchester. Looks like around 9-10 services a week so wondered if a couple would be on strength by then? Any reserved registrations?

Was looking forward to seeing the answers to this but alas no one wants to share what they know! jethros has the first reg as G-TUMA. Then up to ‘F delivered by April 19. two of the older 738’s, ZA and ZJ seem to be leaving this year but replaced by two Nordic 738’s. Will the max be used at existing 738 bases or will they replace any 757’s until the bigger max’s are delivered? |

TUI UK are recieving one 737 Max8 each Month until April, then the rest of the delivery is yet to be confirmed. I know they're doing some services on the max and some on the 737-800, MAN usually has 4-5 737-800 and adding MAX aircraft there first, and now they're down to 4 at MAN after ZA left the fleet this month and some flights are on to the 757-200, I don't know when the Max aircraft will go to other bases, but presumably when they have enough to rotate? |
First 737 Max 8 is due to arrive at Manchester in November!

G-TUMA was delivered TODAY (17/11/18) from BFI--BRU as TOM 838

G-TUMA, currently in Brussels, is leaving on Brussels on Thursday 29th November 2018, and going direct to Manchester. It will be grounded in Manchester for a few days, and enters service on Saturday 1st December 2018, and operate from there until April 2018, when they will have more MAXs and rotate them round Manchester and other bases. The next 737 MAX8, G-TUMB is due Jan 2019, and G-TUMC is also due Jan 2019. Stuart |
TUI G-TUMB
Yes, G-TUMB was brought forward possibly due to Primera Air ceasing operations. It is due 6th DEC, however it will come out of the paint shop next Wednesday 5th December and will do test flights for 4 days and go to Brussels on Monday 10th DEC 2018 and do protocol tests for 2 weeks and will probably arrived at Manchester around 24DEC and be grounded for 2 days before entering service around 27/28th December 2018

Actually, G-TUMB was only brought forward as TUIfly Nordic, was due to have another 737 MAX8 as SE-RNC, but the order was Not Taken Up, and since it had some TUI logos on it already, they decided to put it for the next TUI order, which was for TUI Airways as G-TUMB.

According to Jethro's, G-TUMA is grounded in KEF due to being damaged in a "ground incident"?... Only just out of the showroom....... 🥺 |

That is a bit extreme! Only delivered in Manchester a week ago! Currently approaching Blackpool and heading south.

Obviously scared of St Athan! After a few circuits over the Severn Estuary it went to Manchester.

According to Tyke's blog G-TUMB delivered overnight BFI-BRU as TOM833.
Next one G-TUMC should be line number 7353 according to my sources so should be out of the factory towards the end of the month. |
G-TUMD, G-TUMF and G-TUMG are mentioned in the new production list posted on tykesaeroblog site but I don't see any mention of G-TUME. ?? The reg is available according to the CAA site.
