Thomson Dreamliner

Just booked next years summer holiday, a week in Antalya flying from Gatwick (deep joy ) The upside of that is that we are on the 787, which I'm looking forward to immensely (and was nothing to do with me suggesting this particular holiday, honest guv.;)) I just wanted to know do all the Thomson 787s have seat back IFE fitted?

Out Of Trim 16th Nov 2017 16:37

The airline is now TUI..

Your answer about the IFE appears to be Yes..

under Quality Time

Now then.. What About Gatwick required the  ??

Compared to Bournemouth and Southampton, everything!

Noah Zark. 16th Nov 2017 22:52

Which airports does Tui operate the 787 from, and to which destinations?

The really annoying thing is I've got a model of a Britannia 767 sat on my desk in front of me and I STILL managed to spell it wrong!:ugh::O

Hotel Tango 21st Nov 2017 13:25

I met my wife when she was working for Britannia. The correct spelling was beaten into me! :)

I wouldn't be that excited about flying on a 787, if I were you. Despite all the hooplah, they seem pretty much the same as other aircraft inside to me.

They are quite fast - I'll give them that!

Not as fast as a Trident or VC10 though.

Not hugely excited, I just want to annoy everybody with the window. Goes dark, goes light, goes dark, goes light...:E

I tweeted TUi earlier with the question. Apparently they don't all have the screens fitted, its only the long haul aircraft which seems a bit odd, but I suppose it saves them a few million quid on the purchase price. Just got to explain to the kids now that they can't watch films the whole way there:eek:

Wycombe 21st Nov 2017 21:16

Surely all the TUI UK 787's are long haul aircraft - that get used on short/medium range high density routes during high season?

the pic is from a TUI 787 at MAN yesterday.

there may well be a QR one as well, but the pic I was sent was of a TUI one!

Flew back from Tenerife on a Tui 787 last year. The entertainment system did work. Best take your own headphones as they charge you for them when flying a non long haul route.

Cymmon 27th Nov 2017 18:52

Stick 9 abreast on a 787 and you ruin what the aircraft is supposed to generate. A more comfortable flight experience.
Apart from alledgedly better quality air onboard, it's very uncomfortable.
Give me the A330 anytime.

Why did G-TUII position MAN-DSA-MBJ yesterday then MBJ-MAN this morning ?

Through the Winter season TUI are doing doglegs through secondary airports on the Manchester - Jamaica flights. Belfast, Bournemouth, Doncaster, Glasgow, maybe others.

It'll do the reciprocal to Doncaster on 12 December and then over to Manchester.
