Wingly
How many none pilots like the idea of owning a plane and sharing it with other none pilots and just flying about with family and friends when a suitable pilot is available?
My health means I can' t be a pilot but the flying bug never wears off. |
For air experience I think it is a great idea, but I can see it becoming an illegal air taxi flown by unqualified pilots operating in weather conditions beyond their capabilities

There's been a long debate about Wingly in a separate thread - you might want to have a read of it

I've known a few syndicates where a member has stopped flying PIC, but has stayed as a shareholder just flying with their aircraft partners. That arrangement is perfectly legitimate and should not raise any insurance or legal issues in the event of an incident or ramp check.
Whether an existing partnership would be willing to take on a new partner on that basis; I could see that it may be attractive depending on the type of group. |
