Thomson Flight to Skiathos

As i am travelling on this flight in a couple of weeks, I have been checking timings purely out of idle interest. Today's flight TOM 5584 G-OOBF took off from LTN within an hour of schedule. However it diverted to Athens after what appears to be 2 attempts to land at JSI (FR24). It has now got to Skiathos. Again out of idle interest does anyone here know the reason for the diversion? Problem at JSI as in weather maybe?

It is a very short runway. Perhaps the weather was bad so they couldn't land. When you look through the window while they circle it looks like an aircraft carrier, there is sea at both ends! The first time we were waiting for our flight to land at Skiathos a car went up and down the runway, I found out that it was to make sure there were no children playing, as previously an aircraft had to abandon the landing because children were picnicking!

There appears to have been thunderstorm activity in the area earlier today, and it may well be that they were unable to land initially.

It used to be the case that the apron area was insufficient to allow two 757s to manoeuvre, but maybe this has now been rectified.
