Teruel Airport, Spain
Twice a year I make return trips across Spain and use the A23 (Zaragoza - Valencia). Approaching the Teruel junction one has a good view of a large, modern airfield seemingly in the middle of nowhere. It has been interesting to note the increase in the number of large and mid-sized passenger aircraft on the pans, yet I've never seen any sign of movements. Anyway, I have finally got around to trying to satisfy my slight curiosity and came across this link, which provides the answer - an airfield dedicated to maintenance & storage.

Interesting, although I notice that the Wikipedia page is says is it near Toulouse. Must have been updated by someone from Ryanair ;)

Probably crossed lines. The parent company, Tarmac Aerosave, is based at Lourdes/Tarbes, which isn't all that far from Toulouse.
Teruel looks an impressive operation: http://www.tarmacaerosave.aero/cache...20e4691f30.jpg |
From BA Source 06/08/16:
Withdrawn British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-BNLV positioned Cardiff-Wales – Teruel for storage early this evening. |
