call sign EXS52S on Live flight tracking
Intrigued to know Any ideas why this is there on Callsign EXS52S
Appears to be the Bardon Hill BT microwave tower about 6 miles south of EMA (EGNX) Shown as a triangle with this call sign Static obviously Cant see any others triangles shown anywhere else in the world https://planefinder.net/flight/ |
still there and ident of 7777 which is military  I guess given lack of replies no one knows or those that do dont want to reveal Assume it shouldn't be being displayed.

There's one in South Island of NZ, near Waimate, around 100km S-W of Christchurch. Callsign= z.NO-C87ED
|
yep, thanks so there is but how odd that ones ident is 0000 They dont show up on flight aware either although I have long ago learnt to read some of the tracks they display with a pinch of salt

Code 7777 is not military, at least in the UK. It's assigned to SSR monitors which would account for what you're seeing.
|
Thanks
Apologies yes 7777 is for the UK would make sense having it up there although I dont suppose it supposed to be displayed as none of the others are in the UK or Europe |
SSR monitors usually display an unfeasibly high or low altitude to assist in avoiding confusion. I wonder if the monitor in question is part of EMA's MLAT system?
