Spotter's quiz Daily Telegraph

Here's an easy quiz for the inhabitants of this forum..

How much of a plane spotter are you? - Telegraph

I got 12/12 ;-)

N707ZS 25th Sep 2015 12:52

I thought number 12 was a crow!

ATNotts 25th Sep 2015 13:08

Got 14/15 on the World's hardest geography quiz. I guess I watch too much "Pointless"!

For overseas readers "Pointless" is a BBC TV game show.

11/12 - not bad for an old timer! Wish there'd been some real aeroplanes in it though.

Peter47 25th Sep 2015 15:01

12/12 but to be honest I had to guess whether the light aircraft was a Cessna or Piper. Didn't have too much trouble telling whether one was a 350, 360 or 370 though.

Just don't ask how I always do in Uncle Roger's Xmas quiz.

HEATHROW DIRECTOR 25th Sep 2015 17:55

Sadly, I doubt if too many people on here remember Uncle Roger!

Roger Bacon in Flight magazine straight and level ?

Peter47 25th Sep 2015 19:57

Absolutely right!

12/12. Far too easy and I most definitely don't consider myself an expert by any means. Surprised you only managed 11/12 HD. ;)

HEATHROW DIRECTOR 25th Sep 2015 21:40

I know HT... the rat's nest I call a brain doesn't work too well now!

treadigraph 25th Sep 2015 23:31

12/12 - tricky? nah...

Albaman 26th Sep 2015 07:54

Apologies for going " off topic" here, but the mention of Uncle Roger reminds me that , for some time now, I haven't seen " Flight " for sale at any newsagents - even at airports. It may be that I've been unlucky and all copies have sold out but could someone confirm, please, that " Flight " is still available in print format.

Airbanda 26th Sep 2015 08:17

As far as I can remember it was in WH Smugs last time I was there but it's not been amongst my purchases for many years.

Flight

I receive flight magazine by post every week having subscribed to it by direct debit for ages

MrSnuggles 26th Sep 2015 11:32

That was waaay too easy!

For you who haven't taken the test, it goes something like:

-------------------

Picture:

http://www2.geo-airbusds.com/files/p...irbus-a380.jpg

Question:

Is this an
A) Airbus A380
B) F-16
C) Eurofighter Typhoon
D) Bell Helicopter 206

---------------------

I am a mere mortal among aviation legends but I managed 12 out of 12.

(I do enjoy posting pictures of the big white whale though!)

Simtech 26th Sep 2015 12:45

Anyone here called Hoskins?

wub 26th Sep 2015 15:20

He would have been here but he was a bit late on the round-out

Albaman 26th Sep 2015 16:32

Thanks for the replies re " Flight ", much appreciated.

DaveReidUK 26th Sep 2015 17:45

Although I've been a subscriber for more years than I care to remember, sadly I have to say that Flight is a mere shadow of its former self.

28right 26th Sep 2015 23:38

12/12. Like HD, pity there were no real planes. What about a Starliner or a Convair 880 or even a York in Skyways colours. Those were the days !
