Some weeks ago in MIA (Miami) I happened to see an Gulfstream executive jet with the unusual markings of T92NC. I presumed it to be military although it had no other markings on it. To satisfy my curiosity I recently googled it and have found no reference to it whatsoever. There is a chance that I may have misread it of course, yet I'm pretty certain that's what I saw. Can anyone throw some light on this?

Possibly N192NC a G450 S/N 4126 ?

I've heard aircraft using the call sign "Tango" for part 135 ops.

From Wikipedia:

Air taxi operators in the United States sometimes do not have a registered call sign, in which case the prefix T is used, followed by the aircraft registration number (e.g. Tango- November-Niner-Seven-Eight-Charlie-Papa).

Unfortunately, that does not explain what you saw, with the "T" being painted on the side.

T9 is the registration for Bosnia/Herzegovina. Could it have been T9-2NC?

Thank you M.E., that would make sense. It was in amongst a bunch of other aircraft and it's quite possible that with a combination of glare and a part of another aircraft in the way I somehow saw a T instead of an N.

T9 is the prefix for Bosnia and Herzegovina and there are pictures of aircraft carrying the prefix as part of their registrations but not in the format you saw. Hope someone can help further.

I looked at many possibilities but was so sure that I'd seen a T I never considered the N registered option. Considering that the type matches and it is locally based up the road, I reckon it must have been N192NC. My eyes were deceived for some reason, although I was sober at the time Your Honour :)

I did have a quick look at T9- Business Jet registrations but couldn't see any current ones
E7-SBA was T9-SBA Citation 1
D-HAVD was T9-AAO EC-120
E7-AHA was T9-AHA Jetranger III
E7-SMS was T9-SMS Citation CJ1+

I'm not sure about military registrations but there was a Jetstar 6 registered T9446 (S/N 5046 now stored and probably ready for scrapping) which suggests the T9**** registration may exist but not in the format you had seen, two numerical followed by two alphabetic characters.

N192NC arrived at Birmingham on 11May and has been there since. Picture at http://bhxmovements.********.co.uk/ under Thursday 14 May. Good possibility if light or angle was odd. PS the *** is blo gspot without the space!

Another option is if a false reg was temporarily applied for a film or similar, though I imagine it wouldn't have flown with it on. Saw a Gulfstream in an episode of NCIS the other night where they'd painted out the 'N', and I've an idea I've seen something similar in the past. Not much of a disguise, but I suppose since it was portraying the transport for a 'baddie' the owner may have wanted a degree of anonymity.
